Professor Ash Amin (University of Cambridge) has been appointed Olof Palme Visiting Professor for 2021 by the Swedish Research Council. He will be affiliated with Uppsala University during the professorship.

Ash Amin was a Fellow in residence at the Collegium in the spring semesters of 1999 and 2011. He will take office as member of the SCAS Academic Senate on 1 January 2020.

Dr Susanne Wengle (University of Notre Dame, IN) has been awarded a research grant
totalling SEK 2 800 000 for her project Post-Soviet Harvests: Understanding Uneven Rural Recovery in the Post-Soviet Region. She receives the funding from Östersjöstiftelsen (the Foundation for Baltic and East European Studies).

Wengle was a Fellow at the Collegium in the academic year 2018-19.
